I had the opportunity to visit our nation's capitol for the first time. We took our free Saturday and drove the 2 hours up to Washington DC to do some sightseeing. There were 12 of us and we saw just about everything that there is to see...well probably not everything, but at least the major highlights. Just being in DC made me very proud to be an American and I think it meant so much more knowing that this was the last 'patriotic outing' I will have for a while. It was an exhausting day but overall lots of fun!
Here I am in front of the capitol building.
The Washington Monument
The Vietnam War Memorial
Our hike between the capitol and the Lincoln Memorial. It's a long ways!
